Atlantic Journalism Silver Award Winning Lightning Strike Photo

Heroic effort

During a soccer match in July 2003, a 14-year-old girl and a linesman were struck by the lightning. In this photo a parent doing CPR looks back at the approaching ambulance, while another performs emergency breathing as they make a heroic effort to try and revive the girl that was struck by the lightning. I received an Atlantic Journalism Silver Award for this shot in the News category at their ceremony in April 2004.
