Here is a few of the steps
in preparing the shoe. Starting with the top left and going counter clockwise:
the hoof is measured to make sure it is even with the other one, steam rises
from the water as the shoe is cooled after being shaped on the anvil, and
the final perfection of the shape is done on the grinder.
