Road washed out

Heavy rains caused extensive flooding in the Oromocto area near Fredericton, NB Tuesday, July 23, 2002. New Brunswick was under a tornado watch as basements, pools and homes were flooded and some streets were turned into rivers. Above, Andrew Lindsay, 13, tries to make his way along Waasis road where part of the road had washed out, while below the woman in the red car tries to get out of the way of an Oromocto fire truck as it doesn't slow for the flooded streets on its way to a call.

There is of course a positive side to everything as below Andrew Lindsay, 13, had fun using the flood waters to slide down a grass bank.
