A
crew member of an Antonov Russian Cargo plane is dwarfed by the massive aircraft while
checking the front landing gear prior to take off at the Fredericton Airport Tuesday
March 16, 2004. The plane, which dwarfs the airport terminal, is carrying Military cargo
to Haiti for the Canadian troops that are leaving from CFB Gagetown. The Runway at the
Fredericton airport was extended last year allowing planes this large to land closer
to the Base Gagetown. During take off a road that runs past the end of the runway had
to be closed because the jet blast was so strong.
