When NATO got involved to stop the ethnic cleansing in Kosovo, a massive refugee problem was just beginning. The Canadian Government committed to taking care of 5000 of those refugees. 1000 of these refugees came to Camp Argonaut at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown near Fredericton. The above photo shows the beauty of the country being fought for, this is an early morning shot of a mountain village near the Kosovo Montenegro border that I took in 1989. The following are a few photos I took for The Daily Gleaner and Canadian Press that show their lives while at the camp.
